Community-led travel support

About Us

A letter from the founders, and the mission that continues to guide TravelSakha.

Who We Are

We are Kapil and Kavitha, and we live with our two daughters in the United States. TravelSakha began as a personal effort to help our own parents travel with confidence, and it grew into a trusted, community-led platform for families around the world.

What started through informal coordination has become a structured and privacy-conscious way to help seniors and families find reliable co-travelers for international journeys.

Letter From the Founders

When we first helped our own parents travel between India and the United States, we realized something simple but important: even the most confident seniors feel a little anxious when they travel alone. And even the most organized children feel a little worried until they hear, "I've landed safely."

For years, we relied on friends, relatives, and sometimes complete strangers who happened to be on the same flight. Every time someone helped our parents, it felt like a blessing. Every time we helped someone else's parents, it felt like we were paying that blessing forward.

Slowly, this informal exchange grew into a small WhatsApp group. Then it grew again. And again. Before we knew it, hundreds of families were helping each other - sharing flight dates, offering support, and making sure parents never had to navigate airports alone.

That's when we realized something meaningful was happening.

People weren't just sharing travel plans.
They were sharing trust.

TravelSakha was born from that trust.

We didn't create this platform as entrepreneurs looking for a business idea. We created it as children who simply wanted our parents - and yours - to feel safe, supported, and cared for. Our goal has always been modest and honest:

To make it easier for families to find reliable co-travelers for their parents, without compromising privacy or peace of mind.

Every feature on TravelSakha exists because someone in the community needed it. Every improvement comes from a real story shared by a real family. And every safe journey reminds us why this work matters.

We know this platform is not perfect yet. We are learning, refining, and growing - just like the community that shaped it. But our commitment remains steady:

To keep TravelSakha free.
To keep it safe.
To keep it human.

If this platform has helped your family, we are grateful. If you have ideas to make it better, we are listening. And if you choose to help another parent travel safely, you are already part of the heart of TravelSakha.

Thank you for trusting us with something so personal.

Warm regards,

Kavitha & Kapil
